Comprehensive English comprises Communication skills in the English language ie Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening skills. In other words, the learners assimilate the English language properly by focusing on all four skills.
The module is designed in such a manner that whichever way the learners encounter it, they would be able to respond correctly.
READING SKILL: The learners are taught how to comprehend a write-up given in the English language, be it an editorial of an English Daily or a page from a novel or non-fiction book.
WRITING SKILL: The learners imbibe the language to reproduce in their own natural language on any topic of concern.
SPEAKING SKILL: The idea is to groom the learners in such a way that once they hold a microphone, they can deliver their thoughts/ views/ideas in front of people.
LISTENING: The above-mentioned three skills are taught in the foundation years of education, but the students are hardly taught how to listen well and this is the reason for which they can’t respond promptly when they are confronted with inter-personal conversation.
